Yesterday's post ate itself

I am not good at laying this stuff out. I don't have the patience to learn how to do it right. The computer gods bit me in the ass last night by making my photos unseeable. I saw them. Briefly.

I know this is all a lesson for me to learn to slow down, breathe and be patient with something new.

lauren, these are beautiful shots. i think you've really captured the essence of the people you visited, and it's not desperation or woe, but hope and loveliness.

you told me that they have something that we no longer have access to, something deeply joyful and simple, some sort of connectedness. i think you can see that thing in these shots.

Really beautiful photos. You need to slow down and have patience with you. Every minute, you are newer than the last moment. You are something new.

These pictures remind to stop and smile at people, it might be the image that stays with them for the day. Your photography is a silent part of their faces, interwoven and delightful too. You are doing your part, right now.

Wendy, That's a good point. We really do need to slow down and smile at people. It's something that is so easy to do, but it is seldom done because we are all rushing off to make a dollar. In this race to get ahead, it's easy to forget that we are all connected.

My cheeks hurt while I was in Africa. I made contact with everyone and smiled so hard that I had lines on my face at night. I quickly got back into dodging eye contact here. I need to work on that.
